Merry Christmas!!

Ahhhh Christmas with a 2 year old....so fun! This was the year Isabella finally started "getting it". Between realizing that Santa is not so scary, finding a love for ripping off wrapping paper and marveling at the pretty lights, it was a great Christmas! She started out calling anything Christmas/Holiday related "ho ho" which was pretty funny but she did end up figuring out that there are all sorts of different things to love this time of year. I think by the end of it all she was a little tired out from all the unwrapping and traveling but I can't wait to see what next year brings! I'm sure she'll be up for showing Connor the ropes...

How fast 2 years goes....

So with baby time getting closer & closer we've been pulling out and going through all Isabella's baby stuff. Which of course brings back so many memories from when she was a tiny little baby. Such a big change from the big girl she is now who no longer takes a paci, sleeps in a big girl bed and has started the long (long) road to potty training.... I love seeing her grow and learn new things. Even the things I wish she didn't learn... like picking her nose... make me chuckle and love this curious, headstrong, funny little girl. It also makes me wonder what we are in for come February. I wonder if little brother will be just as crazy or if he'll give mommy & daddy a break and be more calm. Only time will tell!

Rainy day fun

Trying to keep an active 2 year old busy inside all day isn't exactly easy..... So with all the rain we've had lately I've had to get creative, coloring & Play doh were losing it's pull. Friday I thought we could kill some time and make a special treat all in one by making cookies. Isabella loved helping me scoop the dough on to the cookie tray and waited patiently while they were cooking ( with the help of some raisins to keep her distracted). This was the 1st time in a long time that I haven't actually burned the cookies, ha ha! And as you can see from the pics, NO I did not make the dough from scratch....I think that's an adventure best saved for next time...maybe.

Busy Summer!

Been awhile since my last post, been a busy end of summer! Hot, hot, hot! On August 14th we celebrated Isabella's 2nd birthday. It was a great day and she had such a fun time! We took a few little day trips with Isabella for some fun. Took her to Storyland, Canobie Lake park & Clark's Trading post. She loved every minute of it!

New Baby!

Here is our new little bean! Although it looks like more of a turtle than a bean right now. This sonogram was done at 7 weeks and baby had a heartbeat of 120. Everything looks good so far! This week is my 10 week appointment and we should be able to hear the heartbeat on the doppler.

We've sshown Isabella the picture of her new little brother or sister but I don't think she understands it just yet. I'm sure as my belly gets bigger she will have a better understanding. I can't wait to see what a great big sister she will be!

Fathers Day fun!!

Happy fathers day to the best Hubby & Father in the world! We had a great day, I didn't have to work so we went to brunch at The Red Blazer with John's parents. It was very yummy and of course Isabella ate her fill! After that we went back home and spent the afternoon between the sprinkler & the kiddie pool. Fun was had by all and it was so funny to see Isabella's reaction to the sprinkler. At first she wasn't so sure about it but after a few practice run throughs she got the hang of it.

Visiting Auntie

Last week Isabella
, her Gurmy & I went to visit Amanda in Boston. Isabella got to sit like a big girl on the bus and she loved it. We had lunch and spent the afternoon riding the train & walking through Boston. Isabella also loved chasing after Amanda's cat Butters, but I think poor Butters was happy to see us go. We saw some baby ducks in the park, sooo cute! All in all it was a great day and Isabella was so tuckered out she fell asleep on the bus and slept the whole way home.

Isabella's new pet

The other day while John was mowing the lawn he found a tiny little snake. How he saw it while mowing I have no idea but we showed Isabella to see what she would do and she loved it! I have to admit I was surprised, I thought she be scared. I should have known better though this kid really isn't afraid of much.

She kept calling it a "Beee" which means bug, and pointing at it. So John got a bucket and made a little home for it so Isabella could watch him. All she wanted to do was pick him up or touch him. The poor little snake didn't know what to think!

We kept him for a day or two but he was so little we couldn't really feed him properly and we didn't want to kill him so when Isabella went to bed Sunday night John let him go. I'm hoping he released him far, far away from our house because as cute as that tiny little snake was I really don't want to run into him when he's bigger!

Fun at the park

So there is a park down the road from our house that Isabella loves to go to. There is a big pirate ship that she can climb on with swings, slides, a jungle gym, Merry-go-round & an airplane she can ride in. We have to go right by it on our walks so we usually end up playing there at least once or twice a week.

That's in addition to the "big" park over by the high school that we go to also every so often. A lot of the stuff there is still hard for her to play on but she loves it anyway. Especially when the older kids from the community center are there. It's a good way to get out some of that extra energy she has and she almost always falls asleep on the way home. Some days I feel like I should get a nap too after chasing her around!

The 1st one! (Post, I mean...)

I've been trying to find the time to do this for awhile now. I've come to the conclusion I'll never have that much "free time" so I might as well just do it and try to squeeze in some writing when I can. My main purpose here is to make it easier for friends & family to keep up with what we've been up to and to also have something we can show Isabella ( and any other future kids) when she's older.

So that is that, now I'm off to go start our nightly ritual of Sponge Bob, bath & bed!!
